Oddballs to set-up Charity Fund

Former Newcastle United goal-keeper Steve Harper and his partner Richard Metcalfe, who used to play rugby for the Newcastle Falcons, only set up their Oddball pants business a year ago. However the company, which offers a range of colourful men’s boxer shorts has already become Britain’s fastest growing underwear company.

In fact so successful has the company become that it is setting-up a Charitable Foundation in a bid to raise worldwide awareness about testicular cancer. Testicular cancer is a relatively simple cancer to treat providing it is caught early enough and the aim of the campaign is to persuade men to check themselves regularly.

The plan to promote this is through a dedicated advertising campaign as well as celebrity endorsement. Sports stars who have already signed up to support the campaign include Alan Shearer, Dame Kelly Holmes, Mike Tindall, James Haskell and Shane Williams.
