Men’s Health Magazine road test The Lean Gains Bodybuilding Programme to find out if the book is any good

Robert Hicks is the digital editor of Men’s Health magazine as digital editor. He has a pretty fitness base background having previously worked as a journalist writing for Cycling Weekly, Cycling Fitness and Cycling Active.

Robert was challenged by Senior Men’s Health Editor Dave Morton to take on James’s Lean Gains Bodybuilding Programme in order to be able to give us a totally honest, literally hands-on opinion/review of exactly how good and effective or otherwise, the programme really was.

Robert is using all the established benchmark criteria to assess James book as well critically what his body shape looks like having completed the programme – so no pressure then!

The criteria being how easy the book is to understand and follow. How useful he found the background details and explanation. The sections on recovery, conditioning, as well as the nutrition section around which the entire programme is based.

Critically the exercise instructions – were they clear, did they work for him and how easy the whole  process and weekly books were to download and view through the JHHF App.

In all of this Robert is being supported by our partners in the Lean Gains book, Fresh Fitness Food, who have undertaken a full nutritional consultation with Robert and having analysed and carefully assessed the level, type and quantity of food Robert needs to fuel his challenge are delivery his five meals a day direct to his house in their unique chill bag ensuring the food stays fresh all day long.

Follow Robert's progress, read his thoughts and see him in action undertaking the Leans Gains Programme.
