Wasps: Double delight for Daly at Wasps end of season awards
Elliot Daly had a double dose of joy this week as he was named both the players' player and the supporters' player of the season at the Wasps end of season awards
The club held their annual dinner at the Ricoh Arena on Tuesday night. celebrating the achievements of the past season.
Daly picked up the two main awards on the night, while Nathan Hughes won young player of the year and Piers O'Conor picked up the academy player of the year award.
James Haskell won Defender of the Season
Ruaridh Jackson and Jack Moates were awarded the community player of the year with the try of the season going to Joe Simpson for his inspiring solo effort against Exeter Chiefs at the Ricoh Arena on April 26.
Club chef Abbi Gaurav was a popular winner, picking up the club person of the year award while Andy Goode was recognised for his record-breaking tally against London Irish, which saw him top the all time individual points tally in a single game (with 33 points), as well as achieving the 'Golden Boot' this season with 235 points.
Elliot Daly (100 caps), James Haskell (150 caps) and Joe Simpson (150 caps) were also recognised for crossing landmarks for their appearances in black and gold.
There were also caps for outstanding service to Wasps for the departing kit manager and former team manager, Malcolm Sinclair, (21 years with Wasps), Tom Lindsay (11 years), Charlie Davies (five years) and Tom Varndell (six years).
