The 'Dieux du Stade' 2016 Calendar!
The 'Dieux du Stade' 2016 Calendar!
Ooh la la! French rugby stars are joined by England's James Haskell and Arsenal's Olivier Giroud as they strip off for photos that leave VERY little to the imagination!
Athletes have stripped off for a series of racy new photographs highlighting their powerful physiques using just towels and even rugby balls to protect their modesty.
The images taken by French photographer Fred Goudon show the players in all their glory for his book Dieux Du Stade, which translates to Gods Of The Stadium.
The fashion photographer, from Paris, has released the collection to celebrate 15 years of his nude calendars starring French rugby players.
Stade Francais scrum half Clement Daguin, 23, stripped off for photographer Fred Goudon
Castres centre Thomas Combezou, 28, poses for a bold nude - but he's had plenty of practise at starring in the steamy snaps as he's starred in the calendar eight times
Goudon releases a saucy calendar each year, also called the Dieux Du Stade, which features members of the French rugby team Stade Français.
And he managed to persuade well-known names to take part including England star James Haskell, 30 - the boyfriend of Chloe Madeley who played for Stade Francais for two years from 2009 to 2011 - and French footballer Olivier Giroud, who plays for Arsenal. This will be James fifth Stade calendar.
While featuring the usual rugby stars,Goudon decided to up the ante for his book and also include nude images of other athletes from football, handball, judo and swimming backgrounds.
He said in a statement he was 'honouring the male body in all its athletic glory'.
The images include one of Stade Francais scrum-half Clement Daguin, 23, a three-times calendar star, using a strategically placed ball in his portrait.
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, 29, shows off his body art and keeps a firm grip on the low-slung towel while showing off muscled arms and a six-pack.
Clermont scrum-half Morgan Parra, 27, proudly reclines with only a strategically-placed ball in a statuesque pose for the camera. Fred said in a statement he was 'honouring the male body in all its athletic glory'
London Wasps captain James Haskell, 30, who played for Stade Francais from 2009 to 2011 and was the front covert of the calendar in 2010, showed off his six pack by posing in a pair of rolled-down tracksuit bottoms.
Four players congratulate each other with a pat on the back after a game - with their bare derrières on show
French Judo athlete Hugo Marquez, 22, takes to the shower - but he is wearing swimming trunks
The book celebrates 15 years of the calendar with nude rugby players, pictured handball players Nikola and Luka Karabatic
The muscle-bound rugby star and fitness pro is no stranger to shirtless modelling, having appeared in the calendar four times before as well as posing for the cover of Attitude magazine.
The photographer has focused on the masculine form for more than 20 years in his work and his annual tribute to the male form has become something of an event, with the pictures becoming ever more creative.
In one image French Judo athlete Hugo Marquez, 22, takes a steamy shower in a tight pair of swimming trunks, while in another four of the sportsmen congratulate each other with a pat on the back - while nude.
Toulouse-born Hugo Bonneval, 25, a Stade Francais full-back - and something of rugby royalty as both his father and brother are stars of the game - has starred in the calendar six times and in one shot he languishes on a Chesterfield sofa.
Lucas Dupont, 25, a wing for Montpellier Herault shows off his 5ft 10in physique by standing starkers and smouldering into the camera.
Judo player David Larose, 30, who earned France a silver medal for the sport at the European Championships in 2014, posed in his birthday suit in the gym, with a conveniently-placed weights rack sparing his blushes.
French handball player Luka Karabatic, 27, who was born in Strasbourg, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain Handball is seen totally naked but submerged in a pool that just about keeps him covered, along with his brother Nikola, 38, the Olympic gold medallist who also plays for PSG Handball.
The bearded brothers also have the honour of being the cover image of the book.
Rugby royalty Hugo Bonneval, 25, a full-back for Stade Francais, is joined by sportsmen from a variety of backgrounds including, football, handball, judo, and swimming

Judo silver medallist David Larose, 30, from France, stands by the a rack of dumbells in the nude in a dimly-lit shot to emphasise his muscular body
The men appear to be comfortable in front of the camera as they pose for the book, which was released in December.
It seems that Goudon has the ability to persuade anyone to strip off for his camera and he recently unveiled a calendar of images of French firefighters, to raise funds for non-governmental organisation, Firefighters Without Borders.
He told The Local newspaper he wanted to honour the heroes who 'every single day... are out there saving people's lives'.
All of the men who took part were real firefighters, not models.
The charity helps firefighters get a 'hand-up' recovering from difficult situations, recognising that they often pay a high price for their job.
