Guts alone won’t win Wasps big games
Elliot Daly and Matt Mullan will both pass Wasps milestones in Sunday’s Champions Cup tie against Zebre before heading off for England’s sunshine training camp in Portugal.
Daly makes his 150th appearance for the club at the age of just 24, while Mullan will log his 100th Wasps outing and his 50th European game if he steps off the bench.
James Haskell, another of the six Wasps named in Eddie Jones’s England squad, will start in Parma after his 36-seconds cameo against Leicester two weeks ago, joining Guy Thompson and Ashley Johnson in the back row.
Tommy Taylor, also given the Six Nations call, returns from injury to start at hooker and Simon McIntyre makes his first start since damaging his ankle against Saracens in October.
Danny Cipriani and Dan Robson team up at half-back while, with Joe Simpson ruled out by a sprained wrist, Craig Hampson is named on the bench,Zebre, who ditched coach Gianluca Guidi in midfield, make half-a-dozen changes from their defeat in Connacht last time out, five of them in the pack.
