How To Get KSI Laid!
Remember all the girls like a strapping lad
How much do you bench?
How much do you squat?
These are amongst the most common questions asked of anyone who is in some sort of shape. This is shouted to me all the time when I go to events that have young lads in attendance.
The simple fact is to be a rugby player, none of these things are important, so I vary rarely do them. However to build muscle they do have their place in the overall scheme of things, so consequently they tend to be one of the first things that people who want to get in shape, gravitate towards.
So that brings us onto my mate KSI and today’s video.
I am personally a huge believer in starting with body weight work before you start lifting real weights. To achieve what you want to achieve, you have to understand and learn technique, form and tempo to establish both safe and best practice. Like everything in life preparation is absolutely key.
If I had my time again then I would do calisthenics over anything else. So today’s video is all about bodyweight training!
We are using JHHF favorite YouTube mega star KSI as our guinea pig.
He has been struggling with the ladies recently and has put it down to his poor body condition. So he has pleaded with me to set him right.
Personally I think it’s all to do with his hanging chat, but as a mate I have promised to help him out.
I strongly believe if I had started with lots of body weight work when I was younger, it would have given me a stronger foundation and actually progressed my development faster.
If this resonates and you want to read more about my thoughts on different types of training then I have released two EBooks and one actual book.
The book and accompanying EBook are specific to rugby fitness. [You can actually buy them as package. One to read on the beach whilst on your summer holidays and the other to down load via the free JHHF App, for when you off-line in the gym]
The other EBook is a 12 –week Lean Gains Bodybuilding transformation programme www.jameshaskell.com/products/training-ebooks
The session I take KSI through comes from the Rugby EBook, which actually in truth has a far wider application than just rugby.
If you want to try the exercise out for yourself then you certainly can. It’s very simple and easy to do. All you need to do is make sure you do every exercise with a good range of movement and a slow, controlled tempo. Remember form and technique are everything
Exercise 1 - Press ups
3 sets of 10/20 reps.
Exercise 2 - Tricep Dips
3 sets of 10/20 reps
Exercise 3 - Chin ups
3 sets of 8 – 15 reps
There are obviously other different exercises you can do in place of these, but I find them the best to get you started.
Let me know how you get on and tweet us @jameshaskellhf
